In response to the devastation caused by the COVID 19 pandemic which caused the prices of goods to rise, the Bethel Agricultural Association (BAA) partnered with the Ethiopian Bethel Environmental and Agricultural Association (BEAA) and area government officials to fund, obtain, and distribute basic food and cleaning supplies to farmers and area residents surrounding their Bethel Environmental and Agricultural University and Training Center (BEAUTC) project in Woliso, Ethiopia. 120 individuals in Woliso town, Woliso Woreda, and Obi received packets containing: 3 liters of cooking oil, 20 kilos of wheat flour, 3 kilos of rice, 1 kilo of iodized salt, 5 kilos of liquid soap, and 2 face masks for each person. The contents included in these packets were decided upon after consulting area residents and officials what products were most needed. Distribution was done in June 2020. Area residents expressed great appreciation for the needed supplies.
