Despite challenges faced over the last year, progress has been made toward the establishment of Bethel Environmental and Agricultural University and Training Center in Woliso, Ethiopia. We are excited to announce detailed drawings and funding for our first buildings (office space and an analytical laboratory) have been obtained. We will soon be moving forward with the construction of these buildings. Our next priorities are the construction of (i) a building that has guest rooms for visitors and a computer/reading room, and (ii) a building that houses a kitchen and a small dining area (shown in the slides on the right). The guesthouse and kitchen/dining room will be used to house and support guests and team members staying in Woliso to participate in programs such as workshops. The computer/reading room will be utilized by students, guests, and Ethiopian collaborators. It will contain computers, printers, scanners, internet access, and books/materials that have been donated for the initial library.
