A member of one of the partner farm families gave us a tillage demonstration of a field to get it ready for a new season of production. Tillage is primarily done with oxen and a single-blade plow. Depending on the soil type, multiple rounds of tillage may be required to prepare the soil for planting. Hand broadcasting of seed is the predominant method of planting in Ethiopia.
